- 45th Student Conference dedicated to the 65th anniversary of ASU foundation will take place on April 20-21, 2005

- Nart Kubov, a post-graduate student of History Department, won the competition to participate in the seminar for young people of the Caucasus in Istanbul on February 25 - March 2. The seminar was held within the Consortium Initiative, financed by British Department for International Development. International Alert, the leading agency working with civil society, promoted the project and organized the seminar.

- VII Annual Student Festival "Student Spring 2005" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)

- On March 17, the English Speaking Club of the Foreign Languages Department celebrated St.Patrick's Day. Some of the students were wearing green as required by the custom of Patty's Day; others decorated themselves with hand-made shamrock emblems. The meeting started with viewing a video clip of Riverdance, the famous Irish dance group. The video inspired some of the students to practice a couple of simple movements. The quiz that followed contained questions on the history of St. Patrick's Day both in Ireland and in the USA. The winners received candies as a reward.

- On March 4, 2005, an hour-long variety show dedicated to the International Women's Day took place in the Grand Assembly Hall of Adyghe State
University.

- Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and Russian University of Friendship Among Nations (RUDN) invite undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students to take part in the 4th International Conference "CIS Countries and Globalization" on March30 - April 1, 2005. The conference will take place at the Economics Department of RUDN, Moscow.

- Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and Tambov State University named after G. Derzhavin announce the 3rd International Conference "Fundamental and Applied Research I Education" on March 1, 2005.

- February 14th - St. Valentine's Day - is the favorite holiday of all students. The Department of Foreign Languages is not an exception. Since morning the delivery of "romantic mail" was organized. Everyone could send a valentine to their sweetheart.

- On January 22-28, a number of special events dedicated to the 250-th anniversary of Moscow State University took place in Moscow. The representatives of Russian and foreign universities were invited to take part in the celebration. The students of ASU, Maria Ivanova (Foreign Languages Department) and Maxim Shapovalov (Nature Studies Department) also received the invitations as awards for their outstanding academic results and social
activities.
