- May 23rd will remain in the history of ASU as the official date of birth of the university student government. The constituent conference dedicated to the organization of ASU Student Union took place on May 23, 2005.

- On May 19, 2005, the Department of Foreign Languages hosted International Linguistic Conference "Language and Discourse in the Modern World". The organization committee received over one hundred submissions from all over Russia and abroad. All papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings and sent to their authors in the
fall.

- On May, 22, 2005, the representatives of ASU Student Government arrived at Lysaya Polyana - the favorite getaway place of Maikop townspeople - to spend several hours collecting the litter left by negligent holiday-makers.

- On May 9-14, 2005, the Department of Foreign Languages welcomed Bruce Williams from William Patterson University in New Jersey, U.S.A. Mr. Williams gave several lectures to the students of the department on Sociolinguistics, Bilingualism and Foreign Language Acquisition. He also had a chance to attend the final state qualification exam in English. The American professor spoke warmly about the faculty and students of our department, and rated their proficiency in English very high.

- On April 7-11, 2005 the IV (Final) lap of the Russian Cup in All-Round Tourism-on-Artificial-Relief Competition took place at the sports centre of Moscow State Construction University. The previous three laps took place in the cities of Elets (Lipetsk Region), Vologda, and Volgodonsk (Rostov Region). The total number of participating teams was 73; over 30 Masters of Sports and 127 Candidate Masters of Sports took part in the competition.

- On May 4, 2005, the Military Department of ASU presented a special military and sports show dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

- 04.05.05
- On April 8-11, 2005, "Perspective" - the Annual All-Russia Conference of Undergraduate and Graduate Students and Young Researchers - took place at the research base of Kabardino-Balkarian State University in the settlement of Elbrus. This year over 600 research papers were presented there. Each year the representatives of the Republic of Adygheya take part in the conference. This year 53 research papers were presented by the students of Adygheya, including 40 papers from Adyghe State
University.
