Forty students from the Institute of Physical Education and Judo at Adyghe State University participated in the inaugural rope skipping competition within the student community of Adygea.

This event was organized as part of the institute's internal Spartakiad and included both individual and team competitions. Participants were tasked with performing as many two-legged jumps as possible within a 30-second timeframe. Prior to the competition, the students were briefed on safety measures and received a concise master class on the proper techniques for executing the exercise.

The event was graced by the presence of Elena Redina, Chairperson of the Rope Skipping Federation of the Republic of Adygea, who welcomed the participants. She highlighted that rope skipping is a relatively new sport in Russia, having been officially recognized as a separate discipline by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation on October 1, 2019. As a result, various official competitions at multiple levels and across different disciplines of sports rope skipping are now being held throughout the country. Competitors have the opportunity to earn sports ranks and potentially advance to the international level.

The Federation of Adygea was established recently, and currently, the calendar for official sports events in the region for the upcoming year is being developed. The aim of these competitions is to familiarize students with the rules of rope skipping and to encourage greater participation among athletes in this discipline.

- Jump rope is a universally accessible sport, and it is encouraging to see motivation in the form of various categories. Today marks our inaugural introductory competitions within the student community, and we have set a goal to establish a student league in rope skipping. It has already been announced that large open competitions for students will take place in Crimea this spring, and we hope that some of today's participants will be inspired to pursue this sport and represent their university in these competitions,- stated Elena Redina.

In the results from the competition held at the IFC and Judo ASU, Petr Kavas secured first place in the men's category, while Damir Stroitelev and Daniil Kozel shared second place, and David Manukyan placed third. Among the female competitors, Anastasia Ivchenko achieved first place, followed by Polina Ageeva in second, and Polina Belenko in third. In the team event, the senior team won the gold medal, group 1B earned silver, and group 2A secured bronze.
