As part of the meeting of the International Friendship Club, a Round table dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad victory was held in the Adyghe State University conference hall.

Students from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Syria, Congo, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Benin, Comoros, Armenia, South Sudan, Libya, Kazakhstan, Côte de Voire, Palestine, Mali, Zambia, Ghana, China, Algeria, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Angola, Mongolia, Turkey took part, India and Lithuania.

Associate Professor of the Department of National History, Historiography, Methodology and Theory of History of ASU Lyudmila Burykina told: "The International Friendship Club has been functioning at the University for many years. We see our mission in uniting foreign students, belonging to different nations and faiths. Our task is to help all students adapt, self-actualize, join a friendly University family and foster in them an aversion to as Nazism, fascism and extremism”.

Historians emphasize the importance of human values throughout the world. The fate of not only the multinational Soviet people, but also the entire world civilization depended on the outcome of the Battle of Stalingrad. According to Burykina, today there are many falsifiers of history who are trying to revise the results of the Second World War and distort the liberation mission of the Red Army. The task of the scientific and educational community is to prevent falsification.

Our source has read a report about the battle. The participants of the Round table honored the memory of those who died in the war/ There was a minute of silence.

Sixty one states with a population of 1 billion 700 million people participated in the Second World War. This is 80% of the total number of people living on the planet, ASU foreign students have told about their countries' participation in World War II.

They have shared memories of relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War. Common goals and common difficulties united families and peoples.

So, our student Amkadem Siradjaddin Abdussalam Masud has told about Libya's participation in the Second World War. Bida Bandasse Lundry Victorien has presented material on the participation of the Central African Republic, and Kibongi Santo Adolphin Bernard spoke about the Belgian Congo. Nasriddinova Sitora Abrorkizi from Uzbekistan shared her memories of her grandfather, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Also, students from Turkmenistan have many family stories about the exploits of their ancestors.

Nasriddinova Sitora Abrorkizi A student of Asu told: "My great-grandfather fought against the fascists. I was little when he was gone. My mom told me a lot about him. He was thirty-three years old, he left his family and went to defend his homeland. At the front, he found a real friend from Novorossiysk. Even after the end of the war, they were friends for many years. They went to visit each other and wrote letters. Our families still maintain this strong bond. We correspond with the granddaughter of a great-grandfather's friend. After graduating from university, I dream of going to them in Novorossiysk."

A student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Regina Rakhimova from Turkmenistan, said: "When the war began, in 1941 my great-grandfather went to the front as a volunteer. In total, 180 thousand people left Turkmenistan, 100 thousand of them did not return to their native lands. My great-grandfather fought bravely and died at Stalingrad. I think such events are very important. After all, those who do not remember the past will not have a future."

The participants also remembered the power of art, which helped to survive in hard war time. A student from Myanmar, Briney has read a famous poem "Wait for Me” written by Konstantin Simonov.
