Daud Mamiy presented ASU projects to improve the quality of mathematical and natural science education at the republican August pedagogical conference
The traditional August meeting, which this year was held in the State Concert Hall "Nalmes", was attended by the Head of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov , Deputy Chairman of the Republican Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Finance of the RA Viktor Orlov , Deputy Chairman of the State Council - Khase RA Eduard Tseev, Minister of Education and Science of Adygea Evgeny Lebedev, members of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic and deputies of the State Council - Khase RA, supervising deputy heads of municipalities, school directors, representatives of universities, the pedagogical community and public organizations.
In his report, the head of the region informed about the work on modernization of the education sector, current priorities and support provided to the industry at the federal and regional levels. Murat Kumpilov emphasized that the teacher was and remains a key figure in the education system. The competence of teachers and their dedication to the cause are the basis for high-quality education of children and youth, and the formation of patriotism and civic responsibility in them.
At the end of his speech, Murat Kumpilov held an award ceremony for workers in the region's education system. The honorary title "Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Adygea" was awarded to Deputy Director of the Institute of Exact Sciences and Digital Sciences and Digital Technologies, Associate Professor of the Department of Algebra and Geometry at ASU, Director of the Republican School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Svetlana Bedzhanova.
The rector of Adyghe State University Daud Mamiy delivered a report entitled "Improving the quality of mathematical and natural science education. Problems and prospects" . He spoke about the objectives of the Comprehensive Action Plan to improve the quality of mathematical and natural science education for the period up to 2030, the coordinator of which, through the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, is ASU in several strategic areas: mathematics (since October 2024), biology (since May 2025) and chemistry (since August 2025). The key partner of the university in this large-scale work is Lomonosov Moscow State University.
In his speech, the rector outlined the systemic challenges facing school education: a shortage of teaching staff, insufficient attractiveness of pedagogical training areas, as well as new risks associated with the rapid spread of the use of AI technologies among schoolchildren and students.

The report paid special attention to practical measures that ASU is implementing together with leading scientific and educational organizations and industrial partners today. All initiatives are aimed at creating opportunities to unlock potential and improve the educational and professional level for three target groups: teachers, students and schoolchildren.
For teachers, the university organizes advanced training courses at the Sirius Educational Center, summer schools, seminars and internships, as well as professional competitions and olympiads.
Additional education programs have been developed for students, such as “Pedagogy of Talent Development” and “Mathematical Talent and Mathematical Education” , new master’s programs have been launched — “Education of Mathematical Talents” and “Popularization of Mathematics” , internship programs, special summer schools are being organized, including a joint project with Moscow State University, which started this year — “How a Student Can Become a Mathematics Teacher”.

A multi-level support system has been created for schoolchildren at the university. It includes work with gifted children through summer schools, olympiads, competitions, science festivals and other mass educational projects, as well as projects aimed at developing general school education.
For example, the unique telegram bot "Questions of Mathematics" for grades 5-6, developed under the guidance of the head coach of the Russian national team Kirill Sukhov , allows you to study mathematics by solving non-standard problems that are not included in the basic school course, but are interesting and useful for anyone who wants to develop logic and Olympiad thinking. Today, the project community has more than 1.6 thousand subscribers, more than 29 thousand attempts to solve problems have been recorded.
For students in grades 7–9, the project “Mathematical Vertical” is being prepared to launch , designed to provide multi-purpose pre-profile training for schoolchildren in grades 7–9 in mathematics and related fields, and for high school students, work is underway to organize specialized classes (pedagogical, IT, engineering, agro). A new project is being prepared for launch – the Agrobiological School together with partners “Innopraktika”, “RUSEED”, “Progress-Agro”.
In conclusion of his speech, Daud Mamiy emphasized that synergy between universities, schools, businesses and government is a key condition for achieving breakthrough results in the quality of education.
