The Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District and the Head of Adygea Visited Adygea State University on Knowledge Day

On Knowledge Day, Vladimir Ustinov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District, and Murat Kumpilov, Head of the RA , visited Adyghe State University, which celebrates its 85th anniversary this year. The visit began with participation in the university-wide line-up "Hello, First-Year Student!"

Vladimir Ustinov congratulated ASU Rector Daud Mamiy, teachers and all students of the university on the beginning of the new academic year, paying special attention to first-year students. The Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation emphasized that they entered one of the authoritative universities in the south of the country with a rich academic history. The university makes a significant contribution to the development of domestic science and education. ASU graduates are valued not only in the labor market in Russia - students from 30 countries of the world study various professions here.

In his welcoming speech, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation emphasized the fundamental importance of upbringing and education, their defining role in the formation of society.

- Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has repeatedly emphasized that quality education is the basis for the long-term success of Russia's development. At the same time, there should be a continuous connection between education, science and the economy, when scientific achievements fully work to strengthen the sovereignty and security of the country, to improve the quality of life of people. It must be said that ASU understands this well and strives to implement it in practice , - Vladimir Ustinov noted.

The Head of Adygea also congratulated everyone on the Day of Knowledge, and separately thanked Vladimir Vasilyevich Ustinov for coming and the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of the new academic year at ASU together. Murat Kumpilov emphasized that Adygea State University is a large scientific and educational complex with a developed infrastructure. The special pride of ASU and all of Adygea is the only Institute of Physical Culture and Judo in Russia, the creator of which is our legendary fellow countryman Yakub Koblev , who founded the Maikop school of sambo and judo. The Head of the Republic also thanked the teachers and personally the rector Daud Mamiya for their great work and dedication.

- The Republic and Adyghe State University are reliable partners. Together we solve strategic tasks that President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin sets for higher education and regions. Highly qualified specialists are trained here who move Adygea forward and work to strengthen the country. All scientific resources of the university are focused on solving pressing issues of the region , - noted Murat Kumpilov.

Speaking about the glorious history of the university, in the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the anniversary of the Great Victory, the Head of Adygea remembered with special gratitude the employees and graduates of the university who defended the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War and in other military operations. Murat Kumpilov emphasized that their feats are repeated by current students and teachers who are currently participating in the special military operation - these are 37 ASU students and one teacher. Also, 69 family members of SVO participants study at the university.

 -  With their heroism they prove that honor, duty and courage are not just words. All this, I repeat, is the pride and glory of the republic. On Knowledge Day, I want to wish first-year students and all students of ASU bright discoveries, perseverance and success in their studies. You will build the future of Adygea and Russia. Do not be afraid of difficulties. Believe in yourself and boldly move forward! - the Head of the Republic of Adygea addressed the audience.

Then the rector of ASU Daud Mamiy addressed the students, congratulating them on a new stage in their lives and joining the friendly family of Adyghe State University. A traditional ritual was held for first-year students – initiation into the ranks of students of Adyghe State University. The rector wished the students to fully use all the opportunities in the educational, scientific, cultural and sports spheres, which are becoming more and more numerous at the university every year.

During the ceremonial assembly it was noted that the Adyghe University is among the top hundred universities in Russia, is a participant in the Priority 2030 program, and is the flagship university of the Vernadsky – Republic of Adygea scientific and educational consortium. The ASU also includes: the Research Institute, the Adyghe Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Education in the Southern Federal District, 10 scientific schools, and 5 laboratories. There is a unique Botanical Garden here, as well as the Caucasian Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center.
