Lecture on Russia’s Multinational Heritage and Heroism by Professor Elena Malysheva in the Russian Federal Security Service

On April 23, Professor Elena Malysheva, a distinguished faculty member of Adyghe State University and a member of the federal committee of the Russian Society "Knowledge," delivered an informative lecture to the personnel of the Special Communications and Information Center of the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Adygea.

This event was part of the educational initiatives organized by the Znanie Society. The lecture, titled "Country of Heroes: The Names and Fates of Multinational Russia," explored Russia's historical significance as a unique geopolitical entity that unites diverse peoples and cultures.

In her speech, Elena Malysheva highlighted pivotal moments in Russia's military history, spanning from the resistance against Napoleon's expansion to contemporary challenges. The speaker underscored the importance of multinational identity as the cornerstone of national unity during the Great Patriotic War. She presented evidence of the heroic defense of Brest and Odessa, the significant contributions of the people of Adygea to the Victory, the heroic act of Khusein Andrukhayev, and examples of self-sacrifice demonstrated by the families of Stepanov and Gozdanov.

The discussion also addressed post-war conflicts in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and Syria, emphasizing the enduring tradition of defending the Motherland and the ongoing participation of compatriots in the special military operation. Over four thousand participants from Adygea in the special Russian operation  have been awarded state honors, with four posthumously recognized as Heroes of the Russian Federation. Particular importance was placed on preserving historical memory and the imperative of never forgetting the heroic deeds of those who defeated Nazism.

"Heroism transcends ethnic boundaries and unites the peoples of Russia. Acts of valor are universal, and the preservation of this memory serves as the cornerstone of our nation's resilience," concluded the professor.

At the conclusion of the lecture, Elena Malysheva was presented with a letter of appreciation from the Center for Special Communications and Information of the Federal Security Service of Russia, on behalf of the Republic of Adygea.
