A series of educational interviews with leading Adyghe scholars has begun at ASU
At the initiative of Rector Daud Mamiy, Adyghe State University has launched an educational project aimed at preserving and popularizing the scholarly heritage of Adyghe studies. It is part of the "Adygland" project, supported by the "Priority" program. It is being implemented by the Adyghe Studies Center of the Adyghe State University's Institute of Humanities and Culture.
The project is a series of interviews with leading Adyghe scholars at ASU. The meetings are held in an open dialogue format, involving not only invited experts but also undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty members of the Faculty of Adyghe Philology and Culture.
The discussion was moderated by Raisa Unarokova , Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Adyghe History and Culture of the Faculty of Adyghe Philology and Culture at ASU, and Director of the Adyghe Studies Center .
The first guest was Batyrbiy Bersirov , Doctor of Philology, professor, linguist, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Adygea, and the first Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Adygea. He has authored over 50 scientific papers and developed curricula and dictionaries for the Adyghe language. He previously headed the Faculty of Adyghe Philology and Culture at ASU.
During the conversation, the professors focused on the linguistics of the Adyghe language and the importance of its preservation, while the audience took the discussion in a new direction—the influence of technology, corpus linguistics, and artificial intelligence on the development of the language.
The organizers note that the series will continue. Meetings with leading linguists and Adyghe scholars whose research interests lie in the vocabulary, word formation, and etymology of the Adyghe language are coming up.
Video recordings of the interview will be available on ASU's official VK Video and RUTUBE accounts . Follow us on social media to stay up-to-date with announcements and be the first to see new episodes.
