ASU Launches Innovative Project Session to Revise and Elevate the Educational Model

A four-day intensive project-based training course on updating the educational model has begun at Adyghe State University. From July 13 to 16 , faculty, program directors, policy directors, and invited experts will collaborate to develop changes that will shape the future development of education at ASU.

The project session is not focused on adjusting individual curricula, but on a comprehensive redesign of the university's educational model. Participants will determine what an ASU graduate should be like, how the student's path from admission to completion will be structured, what choices students should be offered, and what processes, services, and resources the university will need to implement the new model.

Opening the intensive course, ASU Rector Daud Mamiy outlined the external conditions and key challenges currently influencing the development of university education. He discussed the need to consider changes in the labor market, new requirements for the quality of specialist training, technological transformation, and the growing role of individual educational trajectories.

Nadezhda Ilyinova , Director of the ASU Department of Educational Policy, presented the interim results of the ASU education transformation for 2021–2025 . Victoria Buchatskaya, Director of the Institute, presented the key areas for further development and the boundary conditions that must be considered when designing the new model, as well as the experience of the ASU Institute of Exact Sciences and Digital Technologies .

Ivan Nikitin , expert and Director of Development for the Modeus IT Platform, presented the overall project design, target results, and schedule for the four-day work .

The expert panel on the first day focused on modern approaches to organizing university-wide educational tracks and project-based activities. Representatives from Ural Federal University also shared their experiences with the participants.

Over the next few days, the intensive course participants will develop a graduate and applicant profile for the new educational model, design a student journey map, and identify necessary changes to university processes and support services. They will define and prioritize the requirements for ASU's new educational model and then propose principles and key solutions to implement these requirements in practice. The culmination of the four-day course will be a consolidated roadmap, including tasks for launching elements of the new educational model as early as the 2026/27 academic year.
