Adyghe State University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Trade (China) to Advance Academic Mobility Initiatives
Adyghe State University continues to strengthen its collaborations with partner institutions in China and actively promotes the internationalization of Russian education. During a videoconference held yesterday with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Trade (GDUFS), the university outlined several areas for potential cooperation. Notably, plans are underway to facilitate academic mobility for faculty and students in the near future.
Specifically, an agreement was reached to establish Chinese language instruction at Adyghe State University, which will involve the participation of a visiting specialist from GDUFS. Additionally, an ASU faculty member will be dispatched to the partner university to deliver courses in Russian. These initiatives are tentatively scheduled to commence in the first semester, beginning in September.
Furthermore, the partner universities discussed the organization of summer camps for students from their institutions and explored opportunities to participate in Chinese grant and scholarship programs for both students and faculty from Russian universities. Future collaborations also include the development of joint educational initiatives, such as dual degree programs, master classes, and internships.
As a reminder, Adyghe State University has maintained a close collaborative relationship with Chinese educational institutions since 2024. The university has established cooperation agreements with Heilongjiang University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Trade, North China University, and Liaoning University of Science and Technology. Additionally, in 2024, Adyghe State University became a member of the Alliance of Chinese-Russian Universities for Language Education, founded at the initiative of Moscow State Linguistic University and Heilongjiang University.
During the 2025-2026 academic year, the "Online Course in International Chinese" program was launched at Adyghe State University. Faculty members from Heilongjiang University conduct classes remotely twice a week. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive certificates confirming their participation in this online international Chinese language training program.
