IMG_3310.jpgGuncha Ataeva, Natural Sciences faculty student, officially recognized the Best Foreign Graduate of 2024. She has been awarded a diploma for successful studies, active participation in the scientific, creative and social life of the University at the graduates' honor celebration.

For many years, the University has been successfully teaching foreign students. To date, the University has more than 1500 talented, intelligent and active people from another countries. One of them is Guncha Ataeva, a student of the Chemistry and Biology Department of the Natural Sciences faculty.

The girl is originally from Turkmenistan and learned about ASU from social media. She decided to enter the University in 2019. Guncha had to study remotely since the beginning of her studies coincided with the pandemic period.

Having entered the University and faced with a mixed education, Guncha did not lose her head and quickly joined the rhythm of such training.

Foreign student's life has begun with a difficult path. At that time the freshman who suffered from cerebral palsy had to move to another country. Guncha Ataeva had to face language barrier, cultural differences and certain organizational difficulties.

At first, the Rusian language was difficult for her but dispite that, the girl was disciplined and coped well with the tasks.

During the learning process, thanks to language practice with her groupmates and her teachers' help, Guncha was able to understand Russian better and gradually coped with all difficulties.

The choice of the Natural Sciences faculty was obvious to her. The future student has been interested in Biology and Chemistry since she was at school. Guncha has shared her thoughts:

"When I was at school, I attended various circles related to environmental studies. Biology and Chemistry have always been interesting to me. But if I had to choose between two subjects, I would still choose Biology.I like studying the environment and the processes that take place in it."

Her favoirite subjects at the University were Biology, Chemistry, Zoology and Human Anatomy. Each lesson was special and very interesting for the girl.

The student is applying for a diploma with honors. She successfully studied in all subjects and actively participated in the University life. Guncha took part in conferences together with Julia Demchenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, ASU Chemistry Department Associate Professor. She wrote a scientific article on the determination of sodium benzonate in juice and juice-containing products. The purpose of the work was to study the preservatives quantitative content in juices containing seeds, fruits and berries pieces. Manufacturers often use that as a marketing ploy. They focus our attention on the "naturalness" and health "benefits" of the drink along with traditional juices. But this is not the case at all. Based on conducted analyses, it has been revealed that the safety of juice-containing products is conditional and requires a more in-depth study of its effect on the body. One thing is for sure that the abuse of such drinks leads to various diseases and pathologies.

Guncha has noted those teachers who made her study hard and aspired to become the same professional in her field. Guncha has noted:

"I would like to express my gratitude to the teachers of Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, Chemistry, Botany and Psychology. They are Tsikunib Aminat Jafarovna, Pseunok Aminet Askerovna, Chernyavskaya Irina Vladimirovna, Shorova Janna Ibragimovna and Mamysheva Zuriet Zulkarinovna. They always helped, suggested if I had any difficulties and conducted their subjects very interestingly"

After receiving her diploma, she wants to put her knowledge into practice. Guncha will go back to Turkmenistan and work as a Chemistry and Biology teacher at school.

The Best Foreign Graduate 2024 Guncha Ataeva has given her advice to future Natural Sciences Faculty students:

"It is necessary to study absolutely everything, but it must be done correctly and consistently. When you set your goal and go towards it, then you will definitely get the desired result. Just study, study and study again!"
