According to the decision of the Dissertation Defense Council established at Adyghe State University, Leyla Pseush (Shadje), Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure, has been awarded the degree of Candidate of Sociological Sciences. The degree was conferred by ASU Rector Daud Mamiy during the Academic Council meeting held on 26 of April. 

The dissertation was completed as part of the full-time graduate program at the Department of Philosophy and Sociology of Adyghe State University, under the specialization for training scientific and pedagogical personnel in "Sociological Sciences." The research was conducted under the supervision of Doctor of Political Science, Professor Zuriet Zhade. Dissertation title: “The Value Potential of Volunteering in the Consolidation of Russian Society (Based on Materials from the South of Russia).”

In the modern era, volunteering has emerged as a significant societal response to the increasing challenges posed by global instability. This research centered on the following key questions: Can volunteerism be regarded as a societal value shared by diverse groups and communities across Russia? Moreover, can it serve as a foundational element for social cohesion in a country characterized by divisions along economic, religious, ethnic, and regional lines?

The primary objective of this dissertation was to explore volunteerism as a societal value and to examine its potential as a resource for fostering social unity at both regional and national levels.  

The study analyzed volunteerism as a socially significant value that promotes and transmits universal principles within Russian society. The value model of volunteerism offers a basis for cohesion: "We are united because we are engaged in the same act of goodness."
