A roundtable discussion on preventing the spread of extremist and terrorist ideology among young people was held at Adyghe State University. The event was organized by the Department of Russian History, Historiography, Theory, and Methodology of History at the Faculty of History.

The main goal of the meeting was to find effective methods to combat destructive behavior and develop comprehensive approaches to preventing students from engaging in illegal activities. Approximately 30 people participated in the roundtable , including faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students.

Oksana Malkhozheva, Director of the ASU Coordination Center, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech . In her speech, she warned students against possible recruitment attempts by malicious actors, citing specific examples from practice and emphasizing the signs of destructive influence.

Students from the Faculty of History presented papers during the discussion. They addressed issues of countering extremist propaganda in the digital environment and analyzed the legal and technical aspects of combating illegal content. Participants discussed the role of education and cultural values in developing a strong civic stance, and also touched on issues of preventing extremism among young people, methods for identifying at-risk groups, and the importance of social media.

"The younger generation is a target for malicious actors, so it's crucial to be able to critically evaluate information received online and remain vigilant. Methods for disseminating extremist materials are constantly evolving, and such events help raise student awareness, minimizing the risk of involvement in illegal activities," noted Polina Derbeneva , a first-year master's student and a methodologist at the department .

The event was held as part of the university's educational plan and aimed at strengthening students' legal awareness and personal safety in the information space.
