The Adyghe State University Publishing House will present its latest publication, "Lobachevsky and His Time," at the Moscow International Book Fair, to be held at Gostiny Dvor from September 2 to 6. The presentation is scheduled for September 5 at 11:00 a.m. on the Main Stage.

The book is dedicated to the life and scientific achievements of the great Russian mathematician Nikolai Lobachevsky. It draws upon the interdisciplinary online quiz "Russia Decides!" developed within the framework of the "Science Around. Discoveries Continue" project. The project was implemented by Adyghe State University (ASU) in partnership with the "Science Mail" portal and with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

The author of the book is Leila Kurashinova, Editor-in-Chief of the Adyghe State University Publishing House. Consultancy for the publication was provided by Nikolai Andreev, Head of the Laboratory for Popularization and Outreach of Mathematics at the Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Kirill Sukhov, Head Coach of the Russian national team for the International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren.

The book is illustrated by Irina Gaponova, a graduate of Adyghe State University, and features a collection of questions and mathematical problems. Lobachevsky's biography is presented within the broader historical and intellectual context of his era. According to the authors, the publication aims not only to inform readers about the scientist's life and work but also to engage them in a process of independent reflection and critical thinking.

In May 2026, the publishing house released a print run of 1,000 copies. The book was previously presented at the Moscow International Non/fiction Book Fair in December 2025, where all advance copies were sold out, and at the 12th Red Square Book Festival in Moscow in June 2026, featured in the Children's and Educational Literature Pavilion.

The upcoming presentation at the Moscow International Book Fair will be held in a discussion format. The panel will feature Daud Mamiy, Rector of Adyghe State University; Nikolay Andreev, Head of the Laboratory for Popularization and Outreach of Mathematics at the Steklov Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and Leyla Kurashinova, Editor-in-Chief of the Adyghe University Publishing House. The session will be moderated by Fatima Tlyusten, Director of the Adyghe University Publishing House.

The invitation to the fair's main venue offers a valuable opportunity to showcase the university's distinctive approach to science popularization to a broader audience—an approach in which books serve as tools for research, dialogue, and intellectual discovery
