"Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve. The First Century"

The film is dedicated to various aspects of the reserve's life. The reserve is the largest in area and the oldest specially protected natural area in the North Caucasus. Caucasian Reserve has one of the largest scentific departments among the specially protected natural territories of Russia. The fields of the staff's activity are diverse:natural processes monitoring, flora and fauna study from invertebrates to large mammals, replenishment of the largest herbarium in Russia, soil research and meteorological observation. Fragments of these studies can be seen in the anniversary film.
Filming lasted six moths. The author of the film is Andrey Palamarchuk. He was the editor-in chief of "National Geographic, Russia" in past. The film has been directed by Tatiana Mikhailova and produced by Alexey Belyakov. The film captures the Umpyr cordon, the Akhtsarkhva ridge, the Lago-Naki plateau, the Lake Kardyvach, the Bzerpinsky cornice and many other picturesque locations of the Caucasian Reserve. The audience will see an entomologist's work in the Tiso-Boxwood grove, they will hear Sergey Shevelev's stories, the reserve director and senior researchers and inspectors.
The film screening will take place on February 12 at 14.45 in the ASU Concert Hall (main building). Everyone is invited to attend.
