Total Dictation 2026

This year, an annually educational event, “Total dictation” will be held on April 18 at 14.00. 

Adyghe State University will traditionally be the one of the face-to-face venues. This time, those who want to test their literacy skills will gather in a new place. It will be the concert hall lobby of ASU main building.

The text will be dictated by the Head of the radio broadcasting service of the All-Russian State Broadcasting branch “Adygheya” Susana Khachemizova. The participants of this venue will be able to get to know about Gariy Leontevich Nemchenko’s creativity, whose 90^th anniversary is celebrated this year.

The Rector of the A.M. Gorky Literary Institute, winner of the “Great Book” award, Doctor of Philological Sciences Alexey Varlamov has been chosen as the author of the dictation text.

The dictation will be dedicated to Alexander Pushkin’s childhood and his relationship with his parents.

For those who want to prepare for writing the dictation, in the Total Dictation community https://vk.com/totaldict live classes of the online school are held, which can then be viewed in the recording. Classes are conducted by the chairman of the Philological Council of the Total Dictation, researcher at the Institute of the Russian Language named after V. V. Vinogradov of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Pakhomov.⁠
